First week of year two

This week marks the beginning of the second year of my fellowship; I can hardly believe it’s been a year! There are a new bunch of fellows who just arrived in DC, and we’ve been spending the week in “boot camp,” learning about educational policy, getting to know the other fellows we’ll be working with this year, and listening to discussions from people at our federal agencies as well as the National Science Teachers Association, the math association, and the technology association. Yesterday afternoon included a scavenger hunt that took us all over Washington, including our last stop, the White House.

Here’s a photo of a few of the fellows and I, tired but having fun at the end of our day (with a pretty good view of the White House behind us).

  1. Dear April, Cool adventure and very cool picture. Love, Dad & Mom XOXO

  2. Funny that you have to do it again; but, a cool way to get to know everyone. It must also be so fun to see how excited they are to be where you are and have been. Have another great year and then come home to Colorado. I miss you.
